Confluências
Brazil • Youth-led Gathering • Supported in 2026
Confluências is a youth-led gathering taking place in Salvador, Bahia, bringing together anthroposophy and the cultural, ancestral and social realities of Brazil.
The gathering seeks to create a space where around sixty young people can meet through learning, movement, artistic expression and community life, while opening anthroposophy to voices and communities that have often been underrepresented.
Latest Update
July 2026 / Although preparations are progressing steadily, one of the team's biggest current challenges is finding a venue that aligns both with the logistical needs of the event and with its guiding values and principles. At the same time, the organizing group continues to grow. Young people from different regions of Northeastern Brazil have joined the initiative, while new members from the Anthroposophical community are contributing fresh perspectives, energy and experience.
What has changed since receiving support?
Receiving support from the Round Table Youth Fund changed the team's perspective on what became possible. Instead of limiting participation, they began designing the gathering with the intention of welcoming young people from different social and cultural backgrounds. The support also gave the organizing team confidence to continue developing the project while navigating fundraising, logistics and organizational challenges.
Current Focus
The team is currently working on:
Finalizing the venue
Developing the event programme
Inviting speakers and workshop facilitators
Building the communication strategy
Expanding the network of participants
Special attention is being given to selecting contributors whose work genuinely reflects the central intention of Confluências.
What have we learned?
One of the greatest discoveries throughout this process has been the experience of community. Organising the gathering collectively has taught the team how to navigate differences, embrace conflict with respect, and recognise the humanity of each person involved. Rather than simply organizing an event, the project has become a living practice of collaboration and shared responsibility.
Current Challenge
Finding a location that balances practical logistics with the deeper principles of the project remains the team's main challenge. The process has taken longer than expected, but they feel they are now approaching it with greater clarity and practicality.

One concrete idea suggested by the team is to feature Confluências in the Upcoming Events section of the Youth Section website.
